DASSAULT FALCON 2000LXS
介紹
- Passengers 10
This Dassault Falcon jet combines the 2000LX’s long-range capabilities with the 2000S’s short-field performance for a winning blend of airfield agility, fuel efficiency and comfort.
About this aircraft
- The Falcon 2000LXS was delivered in 2013, with enhanced engines and full-length inboard slats that give it category-leading airport performance.
- With a maximum range of 4,604 miles, the jet can fly direct from New York to Berlin, Dubai to London and Beijing to Mumbai.
- While a few can fly 19 passengers, most 2000LXS jets used for charters are typically configured to seat up to 12 people.
- The large baggage hold can hold at least 12 suitcases, allowing for at least one per passenger, and there’s ample storage for hand luggage on board.
While released by Dassault as a super-midsize jet, the 2000LXS is more aligned with aircraft in the heavy jet class in terms of performance and charter price. The 2000XLS is the newest aircraft in the Falcon 2000 family and inherits many qualities from its younger siblings. Its spacious cabin and outstanding performance, efficiency and technology make it a popular private jet to buy and charter.
Interior design
The 2000LXS has one of the largest cabins in its class, making it easy for passengers to move around during a flight. Falcon interiors are renowned for their quietness and the 2000LXS is two decibels quieter than the preceding 2000LX. Even while cruising, noise onboard only reaches the equivalent of a conversation at home or a running refrigerator.
Passengers sit across two cabin zones, with four large seats at the front while at the back there’s a three-seat divan and a four-seat dining area that converts into a double bed. Also at the rear are an enclosed lavatory and a large galley. The FalconCabin HD+ cabin management system allows passengers to control the temperature and lighting though handheld tablets.
Below are two typical configurations for a Dassault Falcon 2000LXS.
Interesting facts to learn before you fly
- The Falcon 2000S and 2000LXS are the first 2000 series aircraft certified to fly in and out of London City Airport.
- The 2000LXS can fly 7,400 km while cruising at Mach .80.
- Alternative aircraft in the heavy jet category include the Gulfstream G450, Bombardier Challenger 650 and Embraer Legacy 600.
Technological features
Like the 2000EX and 2000LX, the 2000LXS is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW308C turbofan engines. Talon II combustors reduce nitrous oxide emissions by 20%.
The EASy II avionics suite includes hardware and software upgrades for improved vision, better navigation and clearer weather information. Key features include synthetic vision, an improved flight management system, dual Jeppesen charts, a runway awareness and advisory system, better display symbology, an XM weather receiver, a wide area augmentation system and EGNOS LPV approaches. The added feature of an autobrake system allows the twin-jet aircraft to perform on short runways.
History
Entering service in 1995, the Falcon 2000 was Dassault’s first private jet to be entirely designed using digital technology. Production ceased in 2006 as new variants were developed.
The 2000EX launched in 2003 with improved range and avionics, before being renamed the 2000EX EASy following the addition of a Honeywell Primus Epic EASy integrated modular avionics suite. The 2000DX and 2000LX followed in 2007, with the latter boasting a 4,769-mile range thanks to revolutionary new winglets.
The 2000S entered the market in 2011 as an ultra-modern, reduced-range version of the LX with a comparatively lower purchase price and fuel efficiency. Its short-range capabilities opened up 50% more airports than other aircraft in this class, including London City. Dassault began delivering the upgraded 2000LXS in 2013.
Manufacturer
Dassault Aviation’s history dates back to the dawn of aviation. Marcel Bloch (later known as Marcel Dassault) founded the company following a childhood fascination with aesthetics and innovation and it went on to become one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers.
Following the oil shock of 1973-74 and the Iranian crisis in 1979, the global economy felt the impact of rising raw material prices. Dassault bolstered its fundamentals by developing exports of civil and military aircraft against a backdrop of increasingly fierce international competition. Today, the brand holds a special place in the industry as the only global aerospace company still owned by its founding family.
Cost
A new Dassault Falcon 2000LXS costs roughly $35 million (USD), while a used 2013 model retails for around $20 million.
