Dassault Falcon 900C
介紹
- Passengers 14
An upgrade of the 900B, the Dassault Falcon 900C is a spacious and luxurious charter option for up to 14 passengers travelling from New York to London or Paris to Johannesburg.
About this aircraft
- The Falcon 900C took over from the 900B in 2000 with upgraded avionics.
- Its cabin can be configured in a variety of ways, with most laid out to seat 10-14.
- There’s enough space in the baggage hold for 12 suitcases.
- The long-haul jet can complete non-stop journeys from Hong Kong to Istanbul and London to Miami.
- Production ceased in 2005 as Dassault concentrated on the Falcon 900DX.
The Falcon 900C continues the 900B’s winning combination of a large cabin, great short-runway performance and impressive long-distance capabilities.
Interior design
Like the 900B, the 900C’s roomy cabin is typically split into three sections arranged in a double-club configuration with a three-person divan and a full-size lavatory and galley.
Two seats can be reclined and combined to make a full-length bed, while the rest are fully adjustable and can move along a track, swivel and recline. Some configurations feature up to three divans, with two facing each other in the same section.
Below is a configuration commonly found on board a Falcon 900C.
Interesting facts to learn before you fly
- The 900C has the same avionics as the preceding 900EX.
- Alternative private jets include the Gulfstream G450 and Bombardier Global 5500.
Technological features
The Falcon 900C has three Honeywell TFE731-5BR-1C engines instead of the usual two found on business jets. As well as reducing cabin noise and vibration for a smoother flight, the upgraded engines give the aircraft impressive range and speed, deliver 5.5% more thrust on takeoff than the 900 and shave three minutes of the time it takes to climb to 39,000 feet at maximum takeoff weight.
The cockpit features an upgraded Honeywell Primus 2000 5-tube EFIS avionics system, including Honeywell Primus 2000 FCS, dual Honeywell GPS, dual AZ840 air data systems and a Primus 880 colour weather radar.
History
The Falcon 900 was a development on the Falcon 50, itself an upgrade of the earlier Falcon 20. Its design was announced in 1984 and incorporates the use of composite materials throughout. The 900B was produced from 1991-1999 with more powerful and fuel-efficient engines.
Introduced at the turn of the millennium, the 900C features the same engines as the 900B and the upgraded avionics of the 900EX. Dassault ceased production of the 900C in 2005 after delivering just over 20 aircraft, as attention turned to the 900DX.
Manufacturer
Dassault Aviation’s history dates back to the dawn of aviation. Marcel Bloch (later known as Marcel Dassault) founded the company following a childhood fascination with aesthetics and innovation and it went on to become one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers.
Following the oil shock of 1973-74 and the Iranian crisis in 1979, the global economy felt the impact of rising raw material prices. Dassault bolstered its fundamentals by developing exports of civil and military aircraft against a backdrop of increasingly fierce international competition. Today, the brand holds a special place in the industry as the only global aerospace company still owned by its founding family.
Cost
A pre-owned Dassault Falcon 900C costs about $9 million (USD).
